Men sixth, women seventh at ECAC/IC4A Cross Country MeetPublished by
BRONX, N.Y. At the ECAC/IC4A Cross Country Meet on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park, the Binghamton women s team placed seventh out of 17 teams while the Bearcat men were sixth out of 20 squads. Sophomore Alexis Hatcher was 13th overall in the women s 5,000-meter race, covering the course in a time of 18:45. Fellow sophomore Lizzie Greiner was 37th (19:23), senior Caitlin Jelinek was 44th (19:30), freshman Alana MacDonald was 51st (19:45) and sophomore Shannon O Hara was 79th (20:19). Brianna Castrogivanni of Sacred Heart won the race in a time of 17:58 while Pittsburgh won the title title. There were 162 total runners. Senior Ben Snodgrass also placed a team-best 13th overall in the men’s 8,000-meter race, clocking a time of 26:23. Sophomore Nate Kozyra was 16th (26:27), sophomore Jon Vallecorsa was 24th (26:39), junior Jared Rousell was 42nd (26:51) and sophomore Andrew Sweeney was 89th (27:34). Jonathan Annelli won the 186-runner meet with a time of 25:33. Fordham was also the first-place men s team.
