Track & field competes at Albany Spring ClassicPublished by
Contact: David O’Brian ([email protected]) ALBANY, N.Y. Sophomore Brandon Bordeau swept a pair of events, highlighting Binghamton s performance at the Albany Spring Classic. Team standings were not available at the end of the meet. Bordeau captured the men s shot put (51-7 ) and discus (142-10). Also winning events on the men s side were graduate student Jacob Platel in the hammer (187-3) and freshman Jon Alkins in the 200 (21.65). On the women s side, first-place finishers included freshman Keishorea Armstrong in the 100 (11.79), sophomore Alexis Hatcher in the 1,500 (4:42.8), freshman Sarah Haley in the pole vault (11-1 ) and sophomore Tori Shaffer in the high jump (5-7). In addition, Armstrong anchored the first-place 4x100 relay team which also included senior Kathleen Klein and juniors Ivory Taussig and Alexx Baum. Up next for Binghamton is Penn Relays, which run April 24-26 NOTE: On Friday night, Binghamton had other runners compete at the Princeton/Larry Ellis Invitational. Sophomore Ethan Hausamann was 16th in the 5,000, but broke the school record with a time of 14:20.61. The old mark of 14:22.69 was set by current graduate student Jeff Martinez in 2011.
