VESTAL, N.Y. The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its 2013-14 All-Academic selections and Binghamton is well represented on the list. Both the Bearcat men s and women s squads earned team honors and rising junior Joe Miceli earned the USTFCCCA’s individual All-Academic award

All teams that maintained an overall 3.0 GPA for the 2013-14 season earned All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA. The Bearcat women finished with a 3.33 collective GPA while the men earned a 3.04 GPA. This marks the second time in the past three years that both Binghamton squads earned All-Academic honors.

In order to earn individual All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.2 and have advanced to the NCAA Regional Outdoor Meet. Miceli was inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society in April and qualified for the East Regional Meet in the pole vault.

This marks the third consecutive year that Binghamton has had an individual earn All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA. Adam Quinn was selected in 2012 and Jessica Hennig made the list last year.

Binghamton was just as successful on the track this past year. The 2013-14 season was highlighted by both teams earning runner-up finishes at the America East Indoor Championships.
