VESTAL, N.Y. - Sophomore pole vaulter Joe Miceli has been named the America East Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Miceli captured the pole vault title at this weekend’s West Point Open, clearing 16-feet-7 1/2 inches. That mark was an IC4A qualifying standard and is currently the 67th-best height in the country.

Joe is really starting to shine in the pole vault,” head coach Mike Thompson said. “It was exciting to see him jump to his potential Saturday.”

Miceli and the Bearcats next compete at the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday.
