Cross Country Teams Head to Iona Meet of Champions

VESTAL, N.Y. The Binghamton men s and women s cross country teams head to the Iona Meet of Champions, which will be held on Saturday morning at Van Cortlandt Park. The meet, which is now in its 20th year, annually features several of the top teams in the Northeast Region. The women s 6K race starts at 9:30 a.m. while the men s 8K is slated for 10:30 a.m.

At the season-opening dual meet against Albany on Sept. 5, the Bearcat men s team was paced by junior Ethan Hausamann, who was second overall, and senior Matt Johnson, who took third place. On the women s side, sophomore Alana MacDonald was a team-best fourth overall while junior Anna Corrigan finished fifth.

Returning to the lineup for the women this weekend are junior Alexis Hatcher, who was the team MVP last year, and sophomore Eileen O Hara.

Last year, there were 20 men s and women s teams that took part in the Iona Meet of Champions.
